Grades: 1-5
Fauvism is the style of les Fauves, French for “the wild beasts.” Fauvism is known for its expressive, bold and undisguised brushstrokes and vibrant colors, direct from the tube. In this class, students will be challenged to create art bursting with color through bold paint strokes and simple composition. We will examine famous Fauve painters, like Matisse, and use their work to inspire our own masterpieces.
