Fur-Ever Friends - Service Learning Experience

Fur-Ever Friends - Service Learning Experience

Grades: 7-9

This camp strives to demonstrate the “Service” and “Wisdom” tenets of Parish Episcopal School’s philosophy through a creative service project in coordination with the Farmers Branch Animal Adoption Center. This experiential learning effort will study the mission of the organization and its responsibilities to the community and animals. Students will work Monday through Thursday to create and build necessary items for the shelter and its furry guests, with an effort to complete and deliver these items to the center on Friday morning. Students will finish the week writing a reflective piece about this experiential learning project. Ninth grade participants may count seven and half hours of this camp toward their required community service hours, and 7th and 8th grade students may count six hours toward their National Junior Honor Society requirement.
