Grades: 5-8
This is an introductory class to woodworking and shop tools. Using mostly pine wood, students will create several handmade projects including a functional box, table and original pieces of their own design. Participants will receive instruction on the proper operation and use of various hand and power tools including the miter saw, jig saw, belt sander, drill press and cordless drill, to name a few. The first day of class students will complete a safety training module which will address handling and safety procedures. A separate release is required for those taking camps in Parish’s Design Den and will be included in the registration process.
