The Brainery is a week of fun classes geared toward teaching science through quirky topics. The daily themes are as follows:
Ghost Hunting - Students will learn the science behind ghost hunting and use real ghost hunting equipment to analyze the halls of Parish. What will we find? What will we debunk?
Big Bang Theory - Want to know what Leonard and Sheldon do all day in the lab? Explore facets of quantum physics and perform mini-labs sure to make you say, “Bazinga!”
Zombie Physics - Students will be tasked with surviving a zombie apocalypse and will have to use physics to save their lives!
Monster Genetics - Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and Bram Stoker’s Dracula are amazing works of fiction. But, are these monsters just fantasy? Could they be genetically possible? Join the discussion and attempt to build a model of these monster’s cells.
Dry Ice - When you know how to use dry ice safely, it is ridiculously cool! What is it exactly? How is it useful? Grab some heavy duty mittens and find out.
